Day 01: Sandakan / Selingan (Lunch / Dinner)

An early morning flight takes you to the historic town of Sandakan where upon arrival, you are transferred to the jetty and board a boat for the 1 hour journey to Selingan Island. Spend a leisurel day simply enjoying the sun, sand and sea. Later, learn more about the females turtles that come ashore to lay heir eggs. Them help the Rangers release hatchlings from their nursery. Settle down for dinner and a wonderful overnight stay on an island paradise!
Day 02: Selingan / Sandakan / Sukau (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Retuen to Sandakan town and cisit the Sepilok Ornag Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness rehabilitation and rainforest conservation efforts by the State Wildlife Department. Lunch is a simple affair at the Centre's cafeteria before a two-hour drive to the Sukau River. Check in at the Sri Menanggol Cabins and enjoy a leisure afternoon before embarking on an upriver boat-ride to appreciate the many species of Borneo rainforest flora and fauna. Catch the mischievous Proboscis monkes frolic. Settle down for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Sukau / Sandakan / Airport (Breakfast / Lunch)
Wake up to the raucous calls of birds, insects and animals and greet a crisp, clean morning with a hearty breakfast. Enroute to Sandakan town, visit the famous birds' nests caves at Gomantong. Have lunch in Sandakan then tour the historic town prior to youe flight departure for Kota Kinabalu.
 
City Caper

Urban allure meets rural cham as you set off to discover Sabah, starting with a scenic drive through its capital, Kota Kinabalu. The city, formely known as "Singgah-mata" or "the Place where the Rye Lingers", has risen from the destruction of the last world war to become a vibrant and modern city that still retains its traditional charms. See many places of interests in the city centre such as the Wisma Tun Mustapha, Sabah State Mosque and the Sabah Museum for the historical and cultural aspects of the indigenous people. Enjoy a brief stop along Signal Hill for a spectacular bird's eye view of the cit and nearby islands. A chance to shop at a handicraft market.

Bajau Fishing Village & Native Market

Set off, on a journey of discovery, to Tuaran where quaint rural villages nestke amidst rustling paddy field and burgeoning fruit orchards and plantations, on the fringes of thick, lush jungles. Board a boat for a ride that takes you into a cloistered Borneo sea gypsy village, where the Bajau community lives, and be amazed by their remarkable way to living since two centuries ago. Clusters of native houses built on stilts over water, some with thatch roofs, are connected by a latticework of plank walkways and are home for the Bajau. this Bajau village offer a fascinating insight into a different way of life, unhurried by the pressures of modern civilization. the return journey offers a rickety adventure across a suspension bridge, one which ou should not miss.
 
Kota Belud & Rungus Longhouse Experience

Explore one of the most interesting "Tamu" in Sabah, sert in Kota Belud, home to the "Cowboys of the East". A weekly event, the Kota Belud "Tamu" is a colourful melting pot hawkers, vendors, farmers, fishermen and cattle breeders alike. The "Tamu" is as much a place to trade as it is a meeting place for friends and neighbours. You may even glimpse Bajau horsemen in their splendid finery and traditional sword making. hen head north, past vast oil palm and coconut plantations, for a stopover at Gombizou and Sumangkap villages and observe going-making and honey bee farming. Next, visit the longhouse at Bavanggazo village where the Rungus people reside. One of Sabah's many indigenous tribes, the Rungus are mostly farmers and gifted artisans who excel in woven basketry and intricate beadwork. Their longhouse provides shelter for up to 20 to 40 families who each have their own private 'apartments' yet share a common living area.

Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs

Embark on a ride that will take you across mountainous Crocker Range with panoramic views of the countryside and soaring hills. Whilst enroute to Kinablu Park, you can catch sight of Mountain Kinabalu, South East Asia's highest peak. The park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts. On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs. As the name suggests, Poring Hot Springs offer visitors the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs. For a closer look at nature, take to the 41m high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna.

 
Tambunan Rafflesia & Bamboo Village

Make a rendezvous with nature and culture on a trip that takes you to the Tambunan Rafflesia Centre and Bamboo Village. Start the journey with a ride past idyllic countryside, onwards and up mountainous Crocker Range. Your visit to Rafflesia Centre includes a 2-3 hours nature trek amidst lush sub-Montane vegetation and lowland rainforest and the chance to sight Rafflesia buds or a Rafflesia in fll bloom. Stop for lunch at a highland local restaurant and enjoy the fresh mountain air before proceeding to the interior town of Tambunan. On your arrival of Sunsuron, explore this quaint bamboo village and learn how to make "Tapai", a sweet, traditional rice wine.

 
Kiulu & Padas Rivers

A one and half hour drive north of Kota Kinabalu takes you to Kiulu River, past quaint villages, scenic countryside and the rural town of Tamparuli. A short briefing conducted on the Kiulu River bank precedes your adventure. With headwaters from Mt Kinabalu, the river provides a Grade II to III experience, perfect for newcomers to the sport. Deep pools punctuate the river rapids, giving you ample opportunities to indulge in body rafting or swimming. the river journey takes just 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on the river stage and is topped by a refreshing BBQ lunch before returing to the city.

The Padas River offers a far greater challenge and is highly recommended for the adventurous rafter. Getting there proves quite an adventure too, starting with 1 1/2 hour bus-ride to Beaufort to catch the train that will take you all the way to the starting point. You can sight the Padas River whilst aboard this train, giving yourself plenty of opportunity to size-up your challenge. Cutting through boulder strewn gorges, swollen rapids and lowland jungle, the Padas River is a Grade III to Grade IV. At its best, the river offers a serious challenge to even the most seasoned rafters. Make your assault down from Pangi to Rayoh, where you can finally disembark for a well-deserved barbecue lunch. You mode of return transportation will also be by train and bus / van.

 
Mt Kniabalu Summit Climb

Day 01

A refreshing drive pas picturesque countryside takes you up to Crocker Range and the foothills of Mount Kinabalu. Upon registration at park headquarters, your guided climb begin at Timpohon Gate. Although the climb requires no mountaineering skills, it is by no means an easy trek and demands a certain level of physical fitness. The ascent takes you through an Upper Montane Forest which graduates to sparsely vegetation, corresponding to a higher alttude and harsher environment. Stop for a packed lunch along the trail and end your day at Laban Rata, the mid-way resthouse (3345m). Over night accommodation is in dormitories.
Day 02
Your mountain conquest begins in the wee hours, ahead of heavy morning mist, to catch the first rays of the sun at early dawn. Low's peak, at 4095.2m, is your summit destination for a spectacular view of the distant horizon and aas far as the eye can see (weather permitting). Enjoy a late breakfast at Laban Rata before descending to park headquarters, where successful climbers are awarded a certificate. After lunch and a short rest, depart for Kota Kinabalu.
