Hinterland – Tenom and Tambunan

We had a wonderful time exploring the culture, nature, and history of Tenom and Tambunan with this trip. The itinerary was well-planned and the accommodation was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed every moment of this trip, from the coffee tasting at Fatt Choi Coffee Cabin and Yit Foh Coffee Factory & Park to the stargazing at Sinarumbi Tower.

Some of the highlights of this trip were:

The Sabah Agriculture Park, where I learned about the diverse flora and fauna of Sabah. I especially loved the orchids, the fruit trees, and the tram ride.

The Marais Centre, where I experienced the paddy cycling and the Murut traditional attire. I felt like I was part of the local community and appreciated their way of life.

The Padas Farm Stay, where I saw the lime plantation and tasted the famous asam boi tenom. It was a refreshing and delicious treat.

The Keningau Handicraft Centre, where I admired the craftsmanship and creativity of the local artisans. I bought some souvenirs and gifts for my friends and family.

The Kampung Widu, where I witnessed the mystical jar Gantung Sorili. It was a fascinating and mysterious sight that left me in awe.

The Libang Ulu Agrotourism, where I explored the Libang Lama Early Heritage Trail and the Bukit Nanas Tangga 1001. It was a challenging and rewarding hike that offered stunning views of the landscape.

The Mahua Waterfall, where I relaxed and enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of nature. The waterfall was breathtaking and soothing.

The Eko Pelancongan Taman Rekreasi Kintup, where we fed the fish and learned how to make the traditional Sampoton. It was a fun and educational activity that I enjoyed very much

The Kampung Salibog, where we visited the mystical Batu Gong. It was an amazing and unique experience that We will never forget.

The Tabilung Home Cuisine, where I had a delicious lunch and met Rosario, a local artist who won the ASEAN contest in Vietnam in 2019. She was very friendly and talented, and we were impressed by her art and music.

This trip was one of the best trips I have ever taken, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the hidden gems of Tenom and Tambunan. It was a memorable and enjoyable adventure that anyone will cherish forever.
